Today Pies Easter Campaign 2026 Competition Terms and Conditions
1. The promoter is Rhodes Food Group (“the Promoter”).
2. This promotional competition (“Competition”) is open to all South African residents of 18 (eighteen) years and older, residing in South Africa, who are in possession of a valid identity document, passport, or other documentary proof of South African residency. Any director, member, partner, employee, agent or consultant of the Promoter or Shoprite Checkers (Pty) Ltd, the marketing service providers, suppliers, distributors, or any person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by these entities, including their spouses, life partners, business partners or immediate family members may not enter or participate in the Competition and will be disqualified from receiving a prize.
3. This Competition will start on 9 March 2026 (“start date”) and end on 26 April 2026 (“closing date”). The period from the Competition start date to closing date is referred to as the “Campaign Period.” Any entries received after the closing date will not be considered.
4. To enter the Competition, a participant must:
4.1 Be an Xtra Savings member, with an activated Xtra Savings card to qualify;
4.2 Purchase any Today product (“qualifying product”) in store from any Checkers or Checkers Hyper nationwide in South Africa and swipe their Xtra Savings card when purchasing the qualifying product; OR
4.3 Purchase any Today product (“qualifying product”) via the Sixty60 app or web nationwide and ensure their Xtra Savings card is linked to their profile/ account.
5. Participants must keep their till slip / Sixty60 invoice as proof of purchase.
6. Participants may enter as many times as they wish, provided that each entry is associated with a separate purchase. The Promoter or its representatives may block participants from winning a prize or submitting further entries if fraud or code manipulation is suspected.
7. There will be 50 (fifty) winners who will each receive a R1000,00 (one thousand rand) shopping voucher (“prize”).
8. The winners must take note that the voucher is valid for use until 26 July 2026.
9. Participants understand and agree that they may win a prize, but there is no guarantee that they will win a prize.
10. Each winner will only be entitled to one prize, which prize shall be sent via SMS to the winners.
11. The winners will be randomly drawn by the Promoter or Promoter’s representatives after the Campaign Period. Winners will be contacted directly and may be required to provide and verify their details. If the Promoter, or its agent, is unable to contact a winner after 3 attempts, he/she will be disqualified and a substitute winner may at the discretion of the Promoter, or its agent, be selected, using the same winner selection process.

13. By entering this Competition and as a condition to receive a prize, participants:
13.1 Consent to the processing of their personal information by Shoprite Checkers (Pty) Ltd, the Promoter and its service providers, insofar that it is necessary to give effect to the Competition, for example to view the entries, select and announce the winners publicly and deliver the prizes. Winners will be given the opportunity to consent to further processing of their personal information;
13.2 Where applicable, waive their moral rights and grant Shoprite Checkers (Pty) Ltd and the Promoter exclusive, unlimited, perpetual, and free of charge copyright and usage (in any territory where these entities trade), in all media forms of all material, text and intellectual property created and/or published/posted by the participants in the submission of their competition entry. Shoprite Checkers (Pty) Ltd and the Promoter will be entitled to use and edit the intellectual property in any manner and in its sole discretion, for an indefinite period of time and in any territory where it trades. Participants will not during or after the closing date of the Competition dispute or question such copyright and usage;
13.3 Where applicable, waive any right to demand royalties, usage fees or any other form of compensation or payment for the use of intellectual property in the participant’s entry;
13.4 Sign an acknowledgment of receipt form and provide all relevant information requested by the Promoter’s representatives, including but not limited to the winner’s full names, proof of identity (ID, passport, or driver’s licence), contact details and delivery address; and
13.5 Consent that their names be announced publicly by Shoprite Checkers (Pty) Ltd and the Promoter on any platform that they deem fit.
14. Prizes will only be awarded after the winner verification is successfully completed by the Promoter. Failing successful verification, the winner will be disqualified, and a substitute winner may be drawn at the discretion of the Promoter.
15. Any prize that is not delivered, collected, or used within the validity period of the prize, will be deemed forfeited in the Promoter’s sole discretion.
16. Neither Shoprite Checkers (Pty) Ltd, the Promoter nor its agents or suppliers will be liable for the failure of any technical element relating to this Competition that may result in an entry not being successfully submitted, or for vouchers or entries that are lost, damaged, or delayed. Voucher codes will not be resent, and no replacement voucher codes will be issued.
17. The winners will not be entitled to payment, credit or otherwise in the event that they do not receive or utilise the prize to the fullest extent possible. Any item or value unused will be deemed waived by the winners.
18. The Promoter in its sole discretion is entitled to disqualify any winner:
18.1 Who has won a prize in a competition conducted by the Promoter or Shoprite Checkers (Pty) Ltd during the last 3 (three) months before the winners of this Competition is drawn; or
18.2 Who at any time does not act in accordance with the spirit of the Competition, or if fraud or cheating is suspected, including without limitation, through the manipulation of code or falsifying of data.
19. No applications from agents, third parties, organised groups or applications automatically generated by computer will be accepted. No incomplete or corrupted entries will be accepted. Entries will only be accepted if they comply with all entry instructions.
20. Prizes are not transferable and may not be deferred or exchanged for cash, credit or otherwise.
21. The Promoter is entitled to change or terminate the Competition and/or prizes immediately and without notice, if deemed necessary in its sole discretion. In the event of such a change or termination, participants agree to waive any rights that they have in respect of this Competition and acknowledge that they will have no recourse against the Promoter, its suppliers, or agents.
22. Neither Shoprite Checkers (Pty) Ltd, the Promoter, its agents, service providers, suppliers, associated companies, nor any directors, officers, or employees of such, shall be liable for any loss or damage, whether direct, indirect, consequential, or otherwise arising from any cause whatsoever, which may be suffered by the participant.
23. The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
24. Participation in this Competition constitutes acceptance of, and an agreement to comply with, these terms and conditions.
25. The winners may be requested to endorse, promote, and advertise any of the goods and services of the Promoter and will not unreasonably withhold their consent.
26. Protecting participants’ personal information is important to Shoprite Checkers (Pty) Ltd. For more information, please refer to the data privacy statement on their website.
27. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with any social media channel and the participants acknowledge that they are providing information to the Promoter and its agents only and not to any social media channel.

6.3 A Participant may not win more than once. The Organizer reserves the right to withhold prizes from a Participant or reclaim any such prize if a breach of this rule is subsequently discovered.
6.4 Only the original purchaser of the product is entitled to use such purchase to participate.
6.5 Purchases made outside of the competition period do not qualify.
6.6 The Organizers and their associated partners, agencies, and suppliers are not liable for any technical failure that may result in any promotional purchase not being successfully concluded.

7. The Prize:
7.1 Entrants stand a chance to win 100 x R2000 vouchers.
7.2 The Organizer reserves the right, at their sole discretion, to substitute the prize with another prize of comparable or greater commercial value for whatsoever reason.
7.3 Any costs or expenses incurred in respect of items not specifically included in the prize are for the winner’s own account. The Organizer and its associates, if applicable, will not be responsible for any other expenses which the winner may incur as a result of their acceptance of the prize, whether foreseen or not.
7.4 To the extent that any taxes, duties, levies, or other charges may be levied on the giveaway by the government or any other competent government or regulatory body, the participant
will be liable therefore, and the Organizer will not increase the value of the giveaway to compensate for such charges.
7.5 The promotion is not transferable and may not be deferred, changed, or exchanged for cash or any other item. The Organizer reserves the right to alter the giveaway for something of comparable commercial value.
7.6 The Organizers, their directors, employees, agents, and distributors, are not responsible for any misrepresentation (whether written or verbal) in respect of any giveaway nor in respect of any warranties or undertakings given by any person other than the Organizer themselves.
8. Prize Claims:
8.1 Winners will be contacted within two (2) business days of the draw having taken place. If the winner cannot be contacted telephonically within a period of three (3) consecutive business days, the Organizer reserves the right to disqualify a winner and randomly select a replacement winner from the competition entries – a minimum of 6 contact attempts will be undertaken. In such circumstances, the replacement winner will be contacted telephonically. If the replacement winner cannot be contacted within the same time constraints, the prize will be forfeited back to the promoters and no further winners shall be selected.
8.2 Winners who are successfully contacted telephonically will be taken through the process of collecting their prize.
8.2.1 Winners will be required to submit the following:
- Personal details, including full name
- A copy of their SA ID Document
- Proof of purchase
8.3 Failure to complete this process within five (5) working days will result in the winner forfeiting the prize and the prize being awarded to a runner-up.
8.4 A successful prize claim will be subject to the winner being successfully verified. Verification includes, but is not limited to, checks being undertaken to ensure the products purchased in connection with the winning entry were not returned and/or were paid for by the winner.
8.5 The Organizer reserves the right to reclaim any prize if a breach is subsequently discovered.
8.6 The Organizer reserves the right to carry out reasonable due diligence to confirm eligibility and help ensure that the use of any such person in advertising or publicity for the Promotion will not bring the Organizer or any of the Organizer’s brands into public disrepute, contempt, scandal or ridicule or reflect unfavorably on the Promotion as determined by the Organizer in its sole discretion.
8.7 The Organizer may refuse to award the prize to a participant if there is suspicion of any irregularities or fraudulent activities.
9. The winner may be required to take part in publicity, and participation in the competition is conditional on you agreeing to take part in such publicity. The winner will not be entitled to any remuneration for taking part in such publicity. All and any materials, including publicity materials, are the sole property of the Organizer.
10. Winners’ names will be published on the Organizer’s social media platforms; winners are entitled to withhold their consent in this regard. In such circumstances where this consent is withheld, the winner will be identified in winner announcements solely by their initial and surname with no location info being included to satisfy the requirement of anonymity.
11. Should you win the prize, you undertake to expeditiously do all things necessary to enable the promoters to comply with their obligations under the CPA.
12. The Organizer reserves the right to vary, postpone, suspend, or cancel the competition and any prize (if it has not yet been subject to a draw), or any aspect thereof, without notice at any time, for any reason which the Organizer reasonably deems necessary. In the event of such termination, all participants agree to waive any rights that they may have in terms of the promotional competition and acknowledge that they will have no recourse against the promoters, their advertising agencies, advisors, suppliers, and nominated agents.
13. In the event of a dispute, the decision of the Organizer and its agency is final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into.
14. If the winner fails to comply with any of these rules or the terms of acceptance of the prize, this will be construed as a rejection of the prize and then, without prejudice to any other remedy which the Organizer and its associates may have, the winner will be automatically disqualified and will forfeit the prize.
15. No persons who are directors, members, partners, employees, or agents of, or consultants to, the Organizer and/or its parent or affiliated companies, their marketing service provider(s) utilized in connection with the Competition, any supplier of goods or services in connection with the Competition, any other person who directly or indirectly controls, or is controlled by, them, or any spouse, life partner, parent, child, brother, sister, business partner, or associate of any of such persons, may enter the Competition.
16. You further accept and give the Organizer the right to transfer, where applicable, your personal information:
16.1 to any of its third parties for the purpose of processing the information which shall accord with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPI); and
16.2 outside of South Africa, such transfer shall conform with the provisions of POPI.
17. The Organizer does not sell or rent personal information about individual members to third parties. We may, however, disclose personal information in response to a specific request by a law enforcement agency, subpoena, court order, or as required by law.

19. The laws of South Africa govern these terms and conditions, and participants agree to be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.
20. To the maximum extent permitted in law, the Organizer and its directors, officers, managers, employees, and agents shall not incur any liability to any person for any injury, claim, loss, or damage of any nature whatsoever, whether direct, indirect, consequential, or otherwise, as a result of entering into, or arising from any cause whatsoever or howsoever arising from their participation in, the Competition, or the use of any prize won thereunder (any such prizes being utilized at the own risk of any winner thereof).
21. The Competition shall comply with, and will be subject to, any peremptory provisions of the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (“CPA”) and the regulations promulgated thereunder, which are deemed to be incorporated herein (“Peremptory Provisions”). In the event of any conflict between these Rules and the Peremptory Provisions, the latter shall prevail. 22. Any provision of these Rules or the Competition which is held to be invalid or unenforceable shall be ineffective to the extent of such invalidity or unenforceability without invalidating or rendering unenforceable the remaining provisions thereof.
